Calc.pet

QR code for your pet's collar

Fill in your pet's name and a contact phone number to generate a free QR code for the collar. When scanned, it opens a simple page with that information, to help whoever finds your dog or cat return them quickly.

0/140 characters

Fill in at least the pet's name and phone number to generate the QR code.

All the data is encoded in the QR code and the generated URL itself — nothing is sent to or stored on Calc.pet's servers. Only whoever scans the code can see this information.

Privacy first

The name, phone number, and message are only encoded in the QR code and the generated URL — Calc.pet has no database and doesn't store any of this information on a server.

How the calculation works

This is a free smart collar tag — no app, no sign-up required: you fill in the pet's name, a contact phone number, and, optionally, a short message like "If you find me, please call!".

The tool automatically builds a Calc.pet link with that data encoded right in the URL (for example, /en/collar?name=Rex&phone=5551234567) and turns that link into a QR code, all in your browser — no information is sent to any server.

When someone scans the QR code with their phone's camera, the link opens a Calc.pet page that reads the data directly from the URL and shows the pet's name along with a button to call the phone number provided.

To use it on the collar, download the PNG image, print it on a small tag that resists water (a print shop or pet store can laminate it), and attach it to your pet's collar next to the ID accessory.

If any detail changes — like a new contact phone number — just generate a new QR code on this page with the updated information and swap out the old tag.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need internet access day-to-day for the QR code to work?

No. The QR code is generated once, when you create the tag, and it's "baked in" with your pet's data. Day to day, you don't need internet or any app running — only the person who finds your pet and scans the code with their phone's camera needs to be online, to open the page with the contact info.

Can I change the details after already printing the QR code?

You can't edit a QR code that's already printed, because the data is encoded directly into the image itself. If the phone number or message changes, generate a new QR code here with the updated information and replace the old collar tag.

Is my pet's information stored on any Calc.pet server?

No. This tool has no backend or database: the pet's name, phone number, and message are encoded only in the URL that becomes the QR code. Calc.pet never receives, processes, or stores that information — it all happens in your browser.

Can anyone who scans the QR code see the owner's phone number?

Yes. Since there's no password or authentication — the whole point is to make it easy for whoever finds the pet to reach out quickly — anyone who scans the code or opens the link can see the name, phone number, and message you entered. Because of that, avoid adding sensitive information beyond what's needed to reunite you with your pet.

How do I put the QR code on my pet's collar?

Download the PNG image, print it on a small, durable tag (or have it printed at a print shop or pet store), and attach it to the collar's ID accessory. Choose laminated tags or ones with a protective coating, since your pet will wear it exposed to weather, water, and wear.
