About Crown of Thorns
Crown of thorns is a spiny shrub widely used in hedges and gardens in Brazil. Like other species in the Euphorbia genus (the same group as poinsettia), its milky sap contains irritating compounds that cause discomfort in the mouth and stomach when chewed, and can also irritate the skin and eyes on direct contact.
