About Peace Lily

The peace lily is one of the best-selling houseplants in Brazil and is often confused, by name, with true lilies (Lilium) — which are extremely dangerous for cats. They are botanically different plants: the peace lily belongs to the Araceae family and contains calcium oxalate crystals, causing mouth irritation similar to that of anthurium and pothos, without the kidney failure risk associated with true lilies.

Symptoms of poisoning

  • Excessive drooling
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Vomiting
